Track Races Tonight, Polo tomorrow, Taco's Leaving

After a hiatus of weddings and ice cream rides, Flat Track Races resume tonight at East High School at 7pm. I'm changing my gearing after work. Hopefully I'll have some competition.

Bicycle Polo also resumes Sunday at 5pm behind The Peddler on Highland. Travis from Baton Rouge will probably be out to play. The other part of my polo brain (Chase) is out touring right now so you'll have a chance to score. Just some pickup games, everyone is welcome and we have extra mallets.

After that we'll hop across the street to RP Tracks at about 9 for Anthony's going away party. Hope to see you all out.

Flat Track... ATTACK!!!

Several people have come into the shop and asked when we were going to restart the flat track races. The answer is: Tomorrow, Saturday, June 13th (provided the weather is suitable).

You remember the pace lines:

The heat:

The bib shorts:

It's time to do it all again. With even more bib shorts.

Meet-up is at East High School at around 7pm. We'll do a couple of races, drink a couple of pints of water, and see how fast Chase is on his new Pake.

We're almost there!

After the last Flat Track Attack, our total amount of monies raised for the Revolutions Bike Rack Fund is $341.00! We're just $159 short of our $500 goal! So it turns out we're actually about $659 away from our $1000 goal. We're going to be pumping up the donation drive like a flat tire.

In other news, we're lining up sponsors for the 3rd annual Memphis Downs. If you're interested in donating your time or craft just send an e-mail to Anthony, J. Gorman, or myself via the profile links to the right.

Track Race this Saturday!!!

This Saturday, June 28th, will be the second installment of the Flat Track Attack. I know that some of our previous spectators will be out of town for the Tour De Corn and some people will be racing in the 2008 Smith & Nephew/Marx & Bensdorf Grand Prix but that one should be over before 7pm.

No posters, no prizes, no spoke cards. Just fun. And donations for the Revolutions Bike Rack Fund.

This time brakes are optional. There will be tools and mechanics there so if you want you can ride up there with brakes, take them off for the race, and put them back on afterwards. Fixed wheel bikes only.

East High School Track, 7PM.

Spectators ENCOURAGED!

Tell everyone you know.
