Lime Trail - Overton Park

Obviously someone has been doing some trail maintenance in Overton Park, clearing and marking a small, fun loop on the North side of the park. I don't know if "Lime Trail" was the intentional name, I just did it because of the sign color. It joins the Old Forest Trail (OFT) as the only marked trails inside Overton Park, though there are plenty of offshoots that weave a web of unofficial trails. These trails are perfect for beginners as well as cyclocross. Get to "gnome" them.

At some point I thought I read that the trails in OP were off limits to bikes...or is it just like a be cool and don't mess shit up kinda thing?

Dang, Brett! See if you can find that. I haven't gotten any guff from anyone so I think if we just stay cool, keep it clean and not ride after a rain then we'll be okay.

There are 2 more marked trails on the narrow strip south of North Parkway - Red and, um, some other color. Not sure of the rules about bikes on the trails. I am a strictly paved rider.

I've heard about the Red Trail and I've been waiting for a good day to go check it out.

Just asked a knowledgeable friend about the OP rules for bikes. She said in the past it has not been a problem because most users are polite. But things are up in the air now because there will be a new management plan created by the City and the Conservancy. Where bikes will fit in is anybody's guess...
